What if moving better wasn’t about trying harder?
We often try to improve movement through effort, stretching, repetition or correction. Feldenkrais takes a different path: slowing down enough to notice how you move, so your nervous system can discover easier and more efficient possibilities.
So, what is Feldenkrais?
The Feldenkrais Method® is a way of learning through movement.
Through slow, gentle explorations, you become more aware of how you move, where you use unnecessary effort, and what other possibilities are available to you.
Rather than stretching, strengthening or correcting the body, Feldenkrais invites the nervous system to discover easier and more efficient ways of moving, helping you improve coordination, mobility and overall well-being.
Feldenkrais might be for you if...
-
you often feel tension, pain or stiffness and would like to move with more comfort
-
you feel that your body is working harder than necessary
-
you are a dancer, musician or athlete looking for more coordination and sensitivity
-
you want to improve balance, mobility or posture without forcing yourself
-
you are simply curious about your body and the way you move
What happens in a class?
Usually you lie or sit comfortably on a mat while you are guided through slow, gentle movement explorations.
There is no movement to perform correctly. No stretching goal. No need to push.
Instead, you begin to notice differences: effort and ease, left and right, familiar habits and unexpected possibilities.
And sometimes a very small movement changes the way you stand, walk, breathe or simply feel yourself.
What can change?
Less unnecessary tension
Feel where you are working harder than you need to.
Better coordination
Discover more efficient ways of organizing movement.
More mobility & comfort
Not by forcing range, but by finding alternatives.
Greater body awareness
Useful in everyday life, dance, sports and any activity involving movement.

Moshé Feldenkrais - the founder

Moshe Feldenkrais (1904–1984) was born in present-day Ukraine and grew up in Israel. His life path combined science, engineering, and martial arts in ways that would later shape his legacy. After studying physics and mechanical engineering in Paris, he worked with Nobel laureate Frédéric Joliot-Curie at the Curie Institute. At the same time, he became one of the first Europeans to earn a black belt in judo, training under Jigoro Kano’s circle and even translating Kano’s writings into French.
An injury to his knee became a turning point. Instead of accepting the surgical prognosis of limited mobility, he began to explore how movement, awareness, and learning could restore function. This curiosity marked the beginning of decades of research blending his scientific knowledge with embodied practice.
From these explorations, the Feldenkrais Method was born. His approach emphasized gentle movement, attention, and the possibility of reorganizing the nervous system through learning. Over the years, he taught around the world, influencing dancers, musicians, athletes, therapists, and people from all walks of life who sought greater ease and freedom in movement.

About me: Romina Balletti
I’m originally from Argentina and now call Ljubljana my home. My path may look unusual: I studied economics and worked for seven years in an international bank, but my real passion has always been movement and dance. Tango was my constant companion, both a refuge and a way of expressing myself.
A few years ago, I chose to leave the corporate world and follow this passion more fully. Together with my partner, I co-founded a tango school in Ljubljana. What started as dance soon opened a door to somatic education, and in 2023 I began my training in the Feldenkrais Method.
Feldenkrais has transformed the way I relate to movement and to myself. It gave me clarity, awareness, and a new sense of connection. What began as a tool to enrich my work as a dance educator grew into a calling to bring this practice not only to dancers, but to anyone wishing to move with more ease and freedom.
Today, I offer group Feldenkrais classes in Ljubljana, sharing this process of transformation as a path to well-being, self-discovery, and meaningful change.
